Nihon Kohden Cardiolife AED-3100
Automated External Defibrillator cardiolife AED-3100
This automated external defibrillator is ideal for emergency use and can be operated easily by lay people. The voice output, which was designed in line with international recommendations (ILCOR), guides the user safely and systematically through the resuscitation procedures. After the user has moved the push switch on the device to defibrillation for an adult or child, just three further steps are necessary while following the voice instructions:
Step 1: Switch device on
Step 2: Position shock electrodes
Step 3: Press shock button
As soon as a heart rhythm that is suitable for defibrillation has been detected the AED-3100 starts the automatic charging process and indicates when to press the shock button.
The NIHON KOHDEN Continuous VF Analysis Algorithm analyses the ECG waveform even during CPR. The charging starts before a shock is advised. This helps you deliver faster defibrillation than ever before.
The AED-3100 provides defibrillation with the aid of a lower energy, biphasic impulse curve. It needs less energy than traditional monophasic defibrillation and therefore protects the heart muscle. Better results are achieved with the biphasic technology, protecting the patient from sudden cardiac arrest.
Since NIHON KOHDEN uses a particular T-circuit the ActiBiphasic-Technology that was specially developed by NIHON KOHDEN offers an improvement over most conventional biphasic circuit concepts. In traditional, biphasic circuits the shock impulse expands as soon as the transition resistance increases. This reduces the efficiency of the defibrillation. The NIHON KOHDEN T-circuit actively controls the shape of the curve in the second phase of the shock impulse and thus provides a constant impulse curve.
For adult and pediatric patients:
The NIHON KOHDEN AED-3100 can be used for both adult and pediatric patients without changing the pads. The unique NIHON KOHDEN energy switch allows defibrillating pediatric patients by simply switching to the defibrillator’s child mode to deliver less energy. Drowning accidents can lead to ventricular fibrillation in children.
With an international protection class of IP55 class the AED-3100 is protected against water jets and can be used in those settings.
AED with memory function:
When using the AED-3100, data on resuscitation (ECG and event information) is collected and saved for 30 minutes. Therefore up to three applications can be documented and analyzed over a period of up to 90 minutes. In addition, the device's daily self-tests (31 entries), monthly self-tests (12 entries) and other tests (50 entries) can be saved and read for maintenance activities.
Each day (at midday) the AED-3100 tests itself in order to monitor the functionality of the device, battery and electrodes. The test results can then be displayed in the form of a red/green status indicator (green = fully operational) that is clearly visible without needing to open the device.
The saved data and the test results can be transmitted wirelessly to a PC via a Bluetooth interface, where they can be conveniently displayed and analyzed using the AED transcription software.
